The delay with Backerkit I mentioned yesterday has been resolved, the surveys have been approved and the smoke test (surveys sent to 5% of backers) has been initiated. As long as there are no issues found with the surveys, the rest of you will receive them tomorrow afternoon.

Daymakers!

I've been waiting to update until the Backerkit surveys have been approved but the process is, strangely, dragging on. The surveys were submitted for approval last Tuesday and BK is usually very prompt in approving or requesting changes. Yet, all I see when I log in is:

We reached out to Backerkit yesterday and are waiting to hear back. It's all very out of character, usually everything through BK runs like clockwork. But knock on wood, we'll get the approval to send surveys sometime this week. 

In the meantime, please enjoy the Doc Matter Handbook Entry we created as part of the Stretch Goals. These are a lot of fun to create; hope you guys enjoy as much as we did. Stefan did a great job on the design, even making it look as if it's printed on old newsprint. 

Back (hopefully) soon with an ETA on the surveys.

Daymakers!

The smoke has cleared and we officially have ourselves another issue of Daybreak! to enjoy.  

Thank you, guys. This was our most successful campaign to date and your support and enthusiasm really encourages Stefan and I to buckle down and work extra hard on the double-sized finale. 

Unfortunately, we weren't able to unlock the Machine and Custodian handbook pages but we came damn close! I can pretty much guarantee those will be included as stretch goals in the final DB campaign so hang in there if you were looking forward to them.

99% of the work on issue #3 is done; all we need to do while Kickstarter processes the pledges over the next two weeks is design and plug in the DB and Doc Matter handbook entries. I already wrote them and Stefan sent me the art as I'm typing this so that should be a cinch. I would expect Backerkit surveys to be sent out in roughly 16 days. New Pain will be aiming for a late June/early July fulfillment, digital rewards first. The next NP campaign will be launching in mid-July, we're deciding between two different options at the moment. For the first time, it won't be a project I've written; you guys get a little break from me.

But don't get too used to it because there's more Switch and Daybreak on the way. 

THE RAFFLE WINNER IS...

Take a bow, Michael Katz, and thank you for helping us promote this campaign. You will receive a signed copy of every NP book published to date. I also have your Riot Earp commission finished and will hand it to you at Albany Con. 

Engagement in the raffle has dropped off quite a bit so we'll probably rethink this approach and come up with a different way to get you guys more involved. Any ideas, just let us know.

Two last minute stretch goals added!

Daymakers!

We did it, guys. The second Marvel Handbook-style entry for Doc Matter has been unlocked. Thank you! And welcome to our newest group of backers!

Remember in yesterday's update when I said there were no more surprises/add-ons ETC? Forget I said that, OK? We're gonna drop a couple of last minute stretch goals on you this morning.

If we can reach $8400 (pretty close to this right now, actually) we'll be adding another Marvel Handbook-style entry for The Machine/Dawn Rizin/Daybreak's best friend to the book. 

And IF we can reach $8800 (which would bring the campaign to 200%) OR hit the mark of 278 backers (one more than our previous Daybreak! best), we'll add a final entry for everyone's favorite Gorilla Janitor/Henchman, The Custodian!

I'll be honest, I kinda don't want to do the Custodian entry because there's a lot about his character revealed in the double-sized finale that Stefan and I are working on. I'd rather save many of those reveals for the actual book but if the gods of Kickstarter demand it,  we'll make it happen. Has anyone ever done a Handbook entry that was mostly redacted? Hmmmm...food for thought.

Just a few hours left, guys.  Your response to this campaign has grown my heart three sizes larger. Why not go for four?

The last 24 hours are gonna be BUZZING!

Daymakers!

Well, this is it. The last hurrah. The final 24 hours of the campaign for Daybreak! #3. 

Because of a couple of cancels, often something that happens late in the campaign game, we're still about $500 away from unlocking the second Marvel Handbook-style entry, this one for Doc Matter. I wrote the two entries yesterday, by the way, and it was a lot of fun to do my best Mark Gruenwald impersonation. I'll bet none of you knew that Daybreak is divorced, did you? Well, you will when you read her entry, along with a lot of other stuff!

To close things out with as much of a supernova as possible, Stefan Tosheff and I will be talking with Blake's Buzz tonight at 8:00 PM EST about all things Daybreak-related.  Blake is a wild man and his show, along with Keeping It Geekly, are my two favorites to blab away on. Stefan and I only ever text so I'm looking forward to chatting face to face with him for a bit. If you guys want to join in, ask questions, insult me, comment on how handsome Stefan is or whatever else strikes your fancy,  HERE'S WHERE YOU CAN FIND US! 

This is it, guys. No more add-ons. No more rewards.  No more surprises. Just a ticking clock, winding down to the end. If you've been waiting to make some noise, now's the time! Add that hashtag #Daybreak3 for old times' sake.
